The Gulfstream’s GIII set speed and distance records in its category; easily traversed both the Atlantic and Pacific without a fuel stop (Savannah, Ga., to Hamburg, Germany, or Honolulu to Chicago nonstop); could be configured to seat 15 passengers; and was the first business jet to feature winglets as standard equipment.
The Gulfstream Aerospace Corp designed the Gulfstream G-III to be similar to the GII (of which more than 250 models were sold), but better as the G-III can fly 4,600 miles (4,000 nautical miles) at a speed of .84 Mach while carrying eight passengers and it can fly 4,140 miles (3,600 nautical miles) at the same speed with twice the amount of passengers.
It is the world's first intercontinental business jet and out performs the midsize competition providing speed, cabin comfort, range and value. Its solid design and performance qualities offer its users an effective platform for conducting business.
This business class jet is designed and developed by Gulfstream Aerospace. It’s superbly outfitted, both technologically and aesthetically, to promote genuine productivity and full relaxation as per the individual needs of any traveler. The aircraft is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines with thrust reversers. The Gulfstream III is the world’s first intercontinental business jet and is equipped with 2 monitors, a DVD player, flitephone, airshow display, and a full galley that can accommodate almost any catering request.
Gulfstream GIII sets the standards for efficiency and versatility and continues to influence the corporate aviation industry. The aircraft also features 17 percent to 35 percent more floor area than any other super mid-size business jet. The aircraft offers a full three-axis fly-by-wire system that delivers flight-envelope protection, increased redundancy and reduced maintenance. The Gulfstream III is recognized throughout the world as the ultimate business jet.
Some of the G-III’s performance capabilities can be attributed to its new wing design. The wing has a 10% greater span than the wings used on the GIIs, and achieves significantly better range. Whitcomb winglets were added to reduce fuel burn.
The GIII is an efficient and reliable long-range private business jet that exceeds expectations providing a roomy cabin and high performance capabilities.
