The Bombardier Challenger 605 corporate aircraft is the evolving evolution of the world's best-selling family of large business jets. Next-generation innovation, on a tried-and-true platform that has positioned Challenger to become the backbone of the world's most esteemed corporate fleets. An aircraft built in response to the needs and absolute necessities of pilots and business leaders alike, for today and tomorrow. By design, it provides corporate and government leaders with the widest - and indeed, one of the quietest - cabins in the industry, in which passengers can work or rest in total comfort and tranquility. It is also designed to ensure that the Bombardier Challenger aircraft, and those who fly in them, continue to stay ahead of all others.
Combining supreme strength, versatility and reliability with cost efficiency matching that of an appreciably smaller jet, the Bombardier Challenger 605 corporate jet is capable, confident and infinitely versatile, allowing world leaders to act with swift effectiveness anywhere in their world
The Bombardier Challenger 605 wide cabin is designed to accommodate passengers more all-around comfort, convenience and connectivity allowing them to stretch their legs as well as their personal productivity and performance. Designed to set new benchmarks for all-around performance both inside and out, the Challenger 605 is an impressive intercontinental corporate jet with outstanding mission flexibility.
With a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82 and a 4,045 nautical-mile (7,491-km)/ range, the Bombardier Challenger 605 business jet boasts exceptional mission capabilities, carrying nine to 12 passengers across oceans and continental distances with unequalled ease and efficiency. Constructed on a proven airframe, the aircraft's rugged systems and engines have been incessantly tested and refined. The benefits and refinements of more than 25 years are felt in every aspect of the highly advanced Bombardier Challenger 605, maintaining an outstanding legacy of reliability and dependability.
From advanced avionics to mature systems, the Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft is technology at its most proven, resulting in excellent dispatch reliability, airliner maintainability and operating costs that rival those of super-midsize jets. The refinements of more than 20 years and the many benefits derived from the Bombardier Regional Jet program are felt in every aspect of this superior aircraft.
Like today's modern airliners designed by Boeing and Airbus, the Bombardier Challenger 605 provides the assurance of multiple layers of redundancy across its hydraulics, flight control and electrical systems. As Bombardier maintains its leadership in systems redundancy, the benefits are felt in the highest degree of dispatch and mission reliability, enhanced flight safety and even reduced maintenance requirements.
The Bombardier Challenger 605 is powered by two General Electric CF34-3B turbofan engines. Combined with the proven Bombardier Challenger airframe, these rugged, airliner-class power plants have set a new standard for reliability and low maintenance costs in corporate aviation. In fact, General Electric predicts the first unscheduled shop visit no sooner than 9,000 hours (on average), equivalent to 20 years of typical operation.
The Bombardier Challenger 605 is the only large jet offering a standard, task-oriented engine maintenance program to lower operating costs and minimize downtime. There are no fixed-time hot-section inspections and overhauls in this program. Borescope inspections are only required every 3,200 hours. These remarkable engines also exceed ETOPS in-flight shutdown requirements.
In introducing the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite to the Challenger 605 aircraft, Bombardier took up the challenge of improving on the benchmark reliability of the Challenger 604 avionics suite. The new Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite offers greater systems integration, reducing clutter in the cockpit and providing more flexibility for the configuration of avionics instrumentation. Incorporating advanced technology, it is designed to considerably reduce pilot workload, while providing instant intuitive awareness and a better user interface.
• Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 with 4 large LCD screens and integrated menu control
• Dual autopilot with single autothrottle
• EFIS/EICAS system with synoptics
• Dual FMS-600 with coupled lateral and vertical nav, performance calculations
• Dual Honeywell Laseref V Inertial Reference System with automatic position initialization
• Integrated Radio Tuning with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 VHF/Nav radios
• Integrated electronic standby instruments
• Integrated Flight Information System supports paperless e-charts operations.
Designed by industry-leading engineers who are engaged in rigorous consultation with corporate pilots, the Challenger 605 is the most ergonomic and one of the best-equipped business jets in its class.
Flight Management System
This airborne navigation system is integrated with the EFIS to allow for head forward display. Not only does it provide full departure and approach procedures worldwide, it also offers the full complement of navaids, intersections and airport data. Its built-in performance computer enables lateral and vertical profiles within the programmed flight plan and monitors flight progress while displaying time and distances.
EICAS Primary Display
The EICAS Primary Display shows engine-operating information in both digital and analog form. The crew annunciation and alerting system displays color-coded messages and warnings, accompanied by some aural messages. This system allowed the development of a "dark cockpit" concept, helping pilots focus exclusively on pertinent items.
